Strava Metro data for the Regional Cycling Network

The province of Utrecht is the cycling region of Europe and wants to remain so (Coalition Agreement 2023-2026, Getting started for Utrecht).

More and better cycling data is needed to anticipate developments and to be able to control cycling. The Strava Metro database, which has been freely accessible to governments since last year, offers promising tools.

The aim of this project is to use Strava Metro to deepen and broaden the insight into the use of the Regional Cycling Network (RFN), as a tool for improving the RFN.

The 2024 survey consists of four parts:

(A) Mirroring Strava Metro to RFN & cycling implementation program 2019-2023 and 2024-2029.

Please email info@track-landscapes.com to receive this complete document.

(B) Strava Metro representativeness research.

(C) monitoring/evaluation of investments in cycling network.

(D) a proposal for a follow-up study on the possibilities of Strava Metro in (cycling and walking) traffic safety tasks.

This '2024 research' was a follow-up to our '2022 research', see PDF bottom right.
